The library of maritime museum of Crete was founded in 1973 simultaneously with the creation of the Museum.

Donations of friends of maritime museum of Crete contributed to enriching its library. The bulk of the collection consists of books Naval History through the ages. There are Hellenic and foreign books on Philosophy, Religion, Literature, History, History of Hellas. Geography Bibliography, Applied Science, Technology, Encyclopedias. There are also old and rare editions.
