84 years have passed since the heroic Battle of Crete in 1941 — a battle that remains a symbol of resistance, courage, self-sacrifice, heroism, and determination in defense of the ideals of freedom and democracy.
As part of the anniversary commemorations, a visit and guided tour took place at the Nautical Museum of Crete, where the exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Crete in 1941 is hosted.
New exhibits were presented, along with photographs of the memorials dedicated to the victims of Mauthausen (the Mauthausen-Gusen Nazi concentration camp in Austria). Among them is a faithful replica of the plaque placed next to the Greek memorial at Mauthausen in Austria.
