On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., the opening of the Photographic Exhibition of Mr. Argyris Mantis entitled: The unquenchable light of the Olympic Flame Athens 2004-Paris 2024 took place in the event hall of the “TETTIX” Cultural Organization in Athens, with the participation of the three rowing ships TRIIRIS OLYMPIA – KERYNEA ELFTHERIA – MINOIC SHIP in the transfer of the Olympic Flame in 2004. The Maritime Museum of Crete participates in the exhibition with great pleasure and honor with rich photographic material.
At the opening greetings were addressed by the President of the cultural organization “TETTIX”, doctor Mr. Georgios Naoum, Mr. Argyris Mantis, the Chairman of Maritime Museum of Crete Commodore (Eng) HN ret. Mr. Emmanouel Petrakis, Ms. Voula Zygouri and the World Champion Ms. Christina Kaltsa for the National Olympic Academy of Greece, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Athens Mr. George Apostolopoulos, the micro-shipbuilder and writer Mr. Evangelos Grypiotis and instead of a greeting a letter was delivered by the President of the Kyrenia Chrysokava Foundation of Cyprus Mr. Takis Neophytou.
From the Maritime Museum of Crete, the opening was attended by members of the Board of Directors, members of our Museum, residents of Athens and our friends from Greece and Cyprus.
The exhibition will run until Friday, April 26, 2024.
